Article 6, item 5
The management of residential premises that do not fall under the standards set forth in the first paragraph shall install and maintain fire alarms for residential use; the location, method, improvement period and other matters to be complied with shall be determined by the central competent authority.

Residential fire alarm installation method
Article 3
Residential fire alarms are installed in the following locations：

1. A dormitory, hotel room, or other living room for sleeping purposes (hereinafter referred to as a dormitory).
2. Kitchen
3. Staircase：
   1. A floor with a dormitory. This floor is not a refuge floor.
   2. Only the refuge floor has a dormitory, which leads to the top of the upper stairs.
4. If there are more than five rooms on any floor of more than seven square meters that do not fall under the first three paragraphs, they will be located in the corridor; if there is no corridor, they will be located in the staircase.

If there is automatic water dispersing equipment or fire extinguishing equipment of equivalent performance (only closed type water dispersing head with labeled temperature below 75 degrees and action time within 60 seconds) that meets the standards for fire safety equipment in various types of premises, the installation of residential fire alarms is exempted within the effective range.

Article 4
Residential fire alarms are installed in the following manner：

1. Installed in the ceiling or floor：
   1. The lower end of the alarm is within 60 cm of the ceiling or floor.
   2. Installed at a distance of 60 cm or more from the wall or beam.
2. Installed on the wall, more than 15 cm from the ceiling or below the floor, less than 50 cm.
3. 1.5 meters or more from the air outlet.
4. Installed in the center of the room as a rule.

Residential fire alarms are set up according to the types listed in the table below：
